Deacon Thomas Bailey grew up in Chicago and was a resident of Lombard for 36 years. He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1960 to 1968. He received the Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a Member of the Lombard VFW Lilac Post. Deacon Bailey was married for 48 ½ years. He was a Product Service Engineer for Motorola for over 30 years. Deacon Bailey was ordained in 1984 and was a Deacon for Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lombard for 27 years. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and a 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. Deacon Bailey worked with St. Vincent DePaul and was very active in all phases of Sacred Heart Catholic Church working for Jesus. |
