Re: Council #8215 Celebrity Dinner Supporting the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation

Dear Brother Knights,

Over the past five years with the help of many generous people, we have managed to raise well over $300,000 to the benefit of the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation. This success was achieved in no small part due to the solidarity of several councils. We are very grateful to:

Together we have helped to build a place of treatment and healing for our province’s children and grandchildren. For our efforts, the Knights of Columbus have been recognized in the dedication of a Maternal Care Room (#3705) in the Pediatric Care Unit of the hospital. Additionally, we have been given an opportunity, in which the Knights would be involved in the spiritual care of the hospital. There is also potential to help facilitate a private family respite room. This is a great honor and responsibility; if we are to move forward successfully, we will need additional support in the important work ahead.

The 6th Annual Knights of Columbus Celebrity Dinner, presented by Les & Irene Dubé will again be hosted by Council #8215 on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019. The guest speaker for this event will be Todd Burpo who co-authored the book "Heaven is For Real", a #1 New York Times Bestseller which recounts his young son's near-death experience. The book also inspired a movie of the same name. The event will include live music entertainment by both St. Joseph's High School Choir and "Kids of Note".  As well there will be a live auction, a major prize raffle and other draws to round out the evening. The attached brochure speaks in greater detail about what can be expected by those in attendance.

We have major supporters committed to working with us in 2020 thru 2022, but still, require additional councils to help make this fundraiser the success that it needs to be. Thank you for your careful consideration in supporting this event, ensuring the Knight’s continued strong witness to The Church that Christ established, inside this hospital, for many years. We look forward to hearing from you.
