MESQUITE COUNCIL MEMORIAL TO THE UNBORN

The project started in 2012 and the monument was erected  in 2013.  Our Grand Knight was Marcos Ruelas.  Marcos got everyone's support to build a monument to the unborn on the property of our new church at La Virgin de Guadalupe Church in Mesquite, NV.

Marcos and his DGK, Roger Ingbretsen were the co-chairs on this project.  The entire council got behind the project and the parishioners embraced it with their prayers and donations.

The Council leads a Rosary to the unborn at the monument after the 9:00 Mass every first Friday.  All the parish is invited to participate and many do.  PGK Marv Woodring and SK Tom Hemmerick lead this activity. 

People come to the monument to pray.  it's in a great spot that allows for peaceful mediation.   On occasion,  people will leave flowers or other gifts.  Helping others find peace through prayer is powerful.  Not many other service organizations can make that claim.  Its times like this that make me proud to be a Knight of Columbus.
