State Advocate: SK Joseph E Koskol

 

Joseph recently served as the District Deputy of District 3 and has served the State Council in this capacity since 2019.

He joined the Knights of Columbus in 2005 and since that time has been a member of Saint John the Beloved Council 11796, in Wilmington, Delaware. At Saint John the Beloved Council, he has held numerous Officer and Program Director positions over the previous 16 years, including three years as Grand Knight, and is currently a Council Trustee. He serves as a mentor to new Knights, and leads a monthly Brother Wellness Check call team and bi-weekly Rosary Prayer and Brother call-in meeting.

As a 4th Degree member of the Cardinal Gibbons Assembly he holds the position of Faithful Scribe.

In 2015 he was elected to be one of our two lay Trustees for Saint John the Beloved Parish, and continues to serve in that capacity.

He graduated with a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from RPI, and joined Dupont in 1977. He retired 5-years ago from Invista, a Dupont spin-off, after a 40-year engineering career, developing textile manufacturing systems, for which he holds 9 patents.

Joseph and his wife Eri have a wonderful daughter, Anna, who has recently been engaged to marry.

Since retiring he has done a lot of part-time volunteer work, including VA Hospital Patient Escort Services, Saint Vincent de Paul Society, counting the parish offertory, seasonally preparing taxes for AARP, and tutoring English as a second language. He is also a long-term member of Bishop Malooly's Engineering Diocesan Building Committee.
