Brother Knights:
Convention Adoration
As of this writing, we are less than week out from the 120th Oklahoma State Convention. This one is being hosted by Holy Family Council 10388 here in Tulsa. It will be held at The Renaissance Hotel & Convention Center here in Tulsa Apr 25-27. If you've already made plans to attend, great! If you were not elected as a delegate for your council and/or weren't planning on attending you can still participate. We're attempting a round-the-clock adoration this year. The Host Council has a schedule you can access online in which you can pick one or more time slots to sign up for. Obviously, this will probably appeal only to those who are nearby. But anyone can come to the adoration - Knight, wife, family, friend - anyone. And if are not close enough, you can still pray for those of us who will be there. We can all use a little extra prayer now and then. If you are attending the convention and intend to spend a little quiet time with our Lord, please sign up via the link as well so we know what kind of coverage we have and what is still needed. See you at the Renaissance!
SP-7s
Remember, SP-7s (Report of Programs) are due 6/30. Even if you don't intend to apply for Star Council, I would HIGHLY recommend you file your SP-7 anyway so that Supreme can have an idea of what programs are being done which only helps us all in the long run. Also, “online” SP-7 forms can only be submitted one time, all resubmissions should be scanned and emailed to FraternalMission@kofc.org for review.
Fraternal Benefit Events (Apr 28 & May 6)
There are two more events coming up, not sure if they're the last for the fraternal year or not, but if your council still needs some FBE attendance to reach Star Council status, here are a couple of opportunities for you. They have the same titles but I'm told they're not identical. Reach out to your Field Agent, your District Deputy, or us here at the State Council if you have any questions.
Thanks to Disaster Relief Helpers
Due to the wildfires that devastated so much of Oklahoma last month, there were a handful of MARCs (Multi-Agency Resource Centers) that popped up on short notice. These are where we partner with Catholic Charities and join a host of other agencies that offer assistance (counseling, monetary, and other) to victims of natural disasters. We don't have a stable of Knights waiting in the wings to jump in and help so we have to put out an appeal begging for volunteers to come help at the events. The following people stepped up and answered that call with very little lead time so many thanks to the following:
Mannford
Mike and Angie Benford
Paul Barranco and his son
John King
Michael Caturegli
Bob Malaby
Stillwater
Pedro Velasco
Mikel & Mindy & Noah Montgomery (the whole family!)
State Secretary Philip Stramski
Kevin Larios
Chris and Sharon Victor
Guthrie
David Nolan
Jim and Beth Jeffcoat
Richard Baker
Robert and Ann Carey
Kevin Blair
Wayne Ducote
Donald Branch
Jimmy Schiel

Little Axe (Norman)
Dennis Kunnanz
Well, I appreciate everyone's help and support. It's hard to believe two years with me as your State Deputy have flown by so quickly. I hope my tenure has produced more steps forward than back. Looking forward to closing out my chapter to see what the next one has in store for us.
Vivat Jesus!
