GENERAL AGENT: THOMAS BEHAN, FICF

Tom Behan is the General Agent for the Knights of Columbus serving Knights and their families in Western New York State.  A member of the Order since 1977, Tom served as a Field Agent in the Donohue Agency from 1985 to 2000.

When asked why he became an agent, Tom responded, "I have always been of service to Catholic families in one way or another and when this opportunity presented itself, I fulfillled a lifelong dream."

Born in Buffalo, Tom grew up in Chagrin Falls, Ohio and attended Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama.  Before returning to the Knights as a General Agent, Tom continued in financial services and has a combined 30 years in the industry.

As a successful agent with the Order, Tom was a member of the Supreme Knight's Club and sales leader in New York State.  Tom has achieved the Fraternal Insurance Counselor Fellow designation.

Tom has served as chairman of Catholic Charities in Buffalo, along with serving as a member of the Parish Executive Leadership Council at Saint Gregory the Great Parish.  He was also Charter Grand Knight of Council14687 at St. Gregory in Amherst.

Tom has been married to his wife Kathleen for 30 years and they have two daughters Eileen and Katie.

As the General Agent, Tom leads a team of Knights dedicated to serving their fellow brothers and families.  "I am passionate about carrying out Father McGivney's legacy, the financial security of Catholic families. This is not a job for me, but a way of life."
