GENERAL AGENT: HARRY CANTER, MBA, FICF

 

Harry J. Canter, MBA, FICF is the General Agent serving Calvert, Charles, Prince George’s, and St. Mary’s counties in the Archdiocese of Washington, and parts of Northern Virginia.  A Knight since 1990, Harry joined the Order to continue a family legacy of serving in the Knights of Columbus.  Starting as a Field Agent in 1994, after 4 years as a Field Agent, Harry took on the role of General Agent in February of 1999.  His primary goals as a General Agent are recruiting, training, and supervising Field Agents as they fulfill the vision of Fr. McGivney by serving the Order's families.

 

Originally from Anne Arundel County, Harry graduated from The Catholic University of America in 1993.  He then went on to earn a Master in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance, from Loyola College in Maryland.  He also holds the professional designation of Fraternal Insurance Counselor Fellow (FICF).  Harry understands the importance of continuing his education to better himself and the Agents in his Agency.

 

The Canter Agency has finished over 100% of quota for 20 consecutive years.  Working for the Order has always been a family business.  His grandfather sold insurance for the Knights of Columbus in Pennsylvania, his Dad worked for the Knights of Columbus for 35 years, and both his younger and older brother both work in the Canter Agency.  Harry prides himself on recruiting, training, and fostering top level financial professionals dedicated to providing the best service and advice possible to Catholic families.
