KOVAR Collection This Year.  Announcement #1

Every year around this time, you would see the smiling faces of our SEAS Knights of Columbus volunteers collecting for their KOVAR charity after each Mass and at the local grocery stores and handing out Tootsie Rolls in thanks. The KOVAR collection specifically serves people in the state of Virginia with Intellectual Disabilities.  However, COVID-19 has impacted many of the Knights efforts to raise money this spring for their Council KOVAR drive.

The Knights of our Council 8183 understand the strain and the stress for families associated with this pandemic. However, life goes on and the needs are great for those in our communities that suffer from Intellectual Disabilities. The Knights would like to ask for your kind donations this year. You can donate in one of three ways. You can write a Check out to the Knights of Columbus KOVAR and in the comments section enter our Council Number 8183. The check can be sent either to the State KOVAR Treasurer or our SEAS Council Financial Secretary. Their mailing address information is listed below:

KOVAR Treasurer                                                                     SEAS Financial Secretary

Jeffery C. Befumo                                                                      Ted Zagrobelny

16933 Four Seasons Drive                                                        12310 Beechnut Court

Dumfries, VA 22025-3619                                                          Woodbridge, VA 22192-2031

Your check or contribution can be dropped in the slot in the Parish Office. Please make sure that the check is made out to the Knights of Columbus, Council 8183. In any one of the three examples, you will be provided a receipt for tax purposes. Thank you for your support.

As noted in John's letter, if every Knight donated $10, if they are able, it would cover some of the grants for this year. A donation of $20 from every Virginia Knight would support a majority of the grants to Intellectually Disabled facilities.

I ask that you provide your donations as much as possible to the KOVAR collection using one of the three methods provided and I Thank you for your support.

Fraternally,

Paul Zerkow

Many On-Line Exemplification Ceremonies. Announcement #2

Worthy Brother Knights,

In this time of crisis, we need Catholic men to serve their church and community in meaningful ways. Supreme Knight, Carl Anderson, has made it our top priority to bring as many men as possible into the Order to assist with our Leave No Neighbor Behind Covid-19 response.

I ask that all First and Second Degree Knights consider attending one of the six on-line sessions listed below to become Third Degree Knights. Also, I ask that all 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Degree Knights consider asking their Catholic sons, grandsons, fathers, friends, and relatives within our council to join the Knights during this time.
