The Knights of Columbus are again very proud to participate in the annual ‘Coats for Kids’ program, providing winter coats for children in need. In 2018, the Knights donated over 100,000 coats on a national level; and our Council 5732 at St. Walter donated 2,500 NEW coats to needy kids. Putting our faith into action, Knights of Columbus Councils have handed out more than 500,000 coats to children throughout the United States and Canada through the Coats for Kids program since it started. The coats donated through our council were given to: St Vincent De Paul Society, PADS, St Angela School, Catholic Charities in Joliet Diocese and Mission of Our Lady of the Angels, Chicago.
The Knights of Columbus will coordinate a collection after all Masses on September 14 and September 15. All monies donated will be used to support the Coats for Kids program. In the past, the Parishioners of St. Walter have been very generous in so many ways and have strongly supported Coats for Kids. We now ask for your support for this very important effort so that we can ensure as many children as possible have new coats for the upcoming winter. Thank you in advance for your continued generosity!
Please stop by the Knight’s table in the Narthex to see the coats we will be handing out to needy kids this fall.
