Cliff graduated from Forrest-Strawn-Wing High School and received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Finance from Illinois State University. Cliff was an avid reader and was always seeking knowledge, which was proven when he then spent the next three years at the University of Wisconsin-Graduate School of Banking.
Cliff is a veteran of the United States Air Force serving as an E5 staff sergeant in the Vietnam War from September 1966 to September 1970. He then served 15 months in Trabzon, Turkey, before spending his remaining time in Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.
Once returning home, Cliff began his career in banking. He joined Iroquois Federal in 1973 then Palmer Bank in 1978 and finally Old National Bank, where he retired 2007 after 35 years in the banking industry. He met many people during his years at work and most, if not all, would describe Cliff as a very humble, thoughtful and selfless man who was known to be an avid investor as well as a logical and critical thinker.
Cliff led with faith first. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church where he was on the finance committee for 27 years as well as past president and board member of Catholic Social Services. Although being a devout Catholic, he also was a part of many organizations including the Knights of Columbus, Noon Kiwanis, American Legion in Forrest, Ill., Post 174, Elks Club, treasurer for three years for the Danville Country Club and was the past president and board member of the Crosspoint Human Services.
Cliff was a very compassionate and supportive man to all and a devoted father and grandfather who would do anything to provide and protect his family, for this and many more reasons he will be missed dearly.
