John James Sheil
March 4, 1935 – April 16, 2018
John James Sheil, beloved husband of Wilma Rohloff Sheil, and devoted father and grandfather. He was a retired member of the Sheriff’s Department of Nassau County, NY, where he was a correctional officer for over 20 years.
Survived by his wife, Wilma; his daughter, Marjorie Sheil of Wagener, SC; grandchildren, Richard Sheil and Angela Smeilus; great grandchildren, Margaret Rose Smeilus and Luke Patrick Smeilus; brother, Patrick Sheil; sister, Eileen Tart, as well as many nieces and nephews, and dear friends. John was predeceased by his son, Shawn William Sheil.
His family celebrates his life and the person that he was, and deeply mourn his passing.
