JAMES DUGGAN

 

James “Jim” Duggan 77, Florence, formerly of De Pere, passed away Thursday evening April 12, 2018 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer surrounded by his family. He was born March 26, 1941 to the late Norbert and June Duggan. Jim was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and a longtime member of the Abbot Pennings Council #3955 of the Knights of Columbus, De Pere.
On July 8, 1960 he was united in marriage to Janet Zastrow at St. Joseph Catholic Church, De Pere. Last July they celebrated 57 years of marriage together. Jim retired from Broadway Automotive after working there for over 40 years, most of that time in the Parts Department. Jim and Janet loved traveling and have seen most of the country. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, riding ATV’s and spending time with his favorite companion, Coco. He and Janet were snowbirds for many years in Arizona, and for the last several years called Florence, WI. home.
Jim is survived by his wife Janet, their children; Cathy (Denis) VandenHeuvel, Connie Schwartz, and John (Jody) Duggan, as well as their grandchildren; Mark, Matt, Jamie, Josh, Ryan, Chris, Nicole, Cody, Donovan, Dustin, John-David, and Autumn. Jim’s great grandchildren; Madelyn, McKenzie, Airri, Krystiana, Arianna, Elsa, and Koda, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He is also survived by sister-in-law Mary Ann Zastrow, three brothers-in-law; Chip Williams, Larry Zastrow, Bob Van Deurzen, and his aunt, Sister Loretta Duggan.
Jim was preceded in death by his sister Diane Williams, brother-in-law Buddy Zastrow, and two sisters-in-laws; Audrey Zastrow and Marie Van Deurzen.
Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere after 4:00PM Tuesday April 17, 2018. A Parish Prayer Service will take place at 7:00PM to bring the evening to a close. Visitation will continue after 9:00AM Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, De Pere until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM with Fr.
