FRED MUELLER

 

Fred Mueller, 90, of Danville, Ill., passed away February 27, 2018, at Hawthorne Inn in Danville.
He was born September 23, 1927, in Rushville, Ind., to Michael and Irene (Shuman) Mueller.
Fred married Anne J. Jackse on October 18, 1952, in Danville, and they shared 65 years of marriage. She survives.
Fred was a lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserves. In 1949 he graduated from Rose Hulman Poly Technical in Terre Haute, Ind., with his degree in electrical engineering. After college, Fred went on to General Electric where he worked until retirement.
He enjoyed Danville youth baseball, where he coached for many years. He was very active in the Knights of Columbus, holding many offices. Fred was a very active member at St. Paul's his entire life. He liked Sudoku puzzles, was an avid card player and volunteered at the hospital. Fred especially loved his grandkids and was a very proud grandfather.
He is survived by his wife; children, Mary Joanne "Jody" Mueller of Danville, Thomas (Sherry) Mueller of Dallas, Texas, Barbara (Thomas) Smith of St. Charles, Mo., Karen (Richard) Tulli, of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and sisters, and a great-grandson.
A Christian Mass of Burial for Fred will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 2, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Danville with Fr. Bo Schmitt officiating. He will be laid to rest at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
