Paul J. Raymond, 75

CANTERBURY - Paul J. Raymond 75, of Northwest Road died Friday, November 24, 2017 at Grand Strand Medical Center, South Carolina with his loving wife and daughter by his side.

Paul was born December 25, 1941 in Worcester, Massachusetts son to the late Robert and Grace (Pollinger) Raymond. He graduated from Assumption College in 1963 with a bachelor's of Science. Paul taught chemistry in Jewett City, Ct before moving to New Hampshire. He then owned and operated Prime Financial and later Brookfield Financial. He was also a former member of the Shaker Regional School Board. Paul was also an active member of Saint Joseph Parish in Belmont.

Paul enjoyed crossword puzzles, Sudoku, traveling within and outside the United States with his wife. He was an avid New England Sport fan and also loved to sing. Paul was a Tenor in his college glee club and also actively sang for the church choir. Above all family was most important to him. He especially loved playing Risk, Pit, Monopoly and chess with his grandchildren.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Barbara (Deering) Raymond of Canterbury; a daughter, Kathleen Dube and her husband, Tracey of Belmont; five grandchildren, Ryan and fiancé, Katie Potter of Belmont Garrett Dube of Belmont, Isabelle, Lillian and Finnegan Benoit of Bow; a brother, Thomas Raymond of Worcester; a sister, Grace Scanlon of Auburn, MA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his daughter Susan Raymond; his brother, Robert Raymond Jr.; his two sisters, Ruth Henry and Rosemary Anderson and a brothers-in-law, James Scanlon and John Jackson.

Calling Hours were held on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 6:00- 8:00pm at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH using the Carriage House entrance.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 1:00pm at Saint Joseph Parish, 96 Main Street, Belmont, NH.

Burial followed in the family lot at Maple Grove Cemetery in Canterbury.
