Marvin (Marv) Myles Smith “Slug” 77 was born on August 20, 1940 and died on November 23, 2017. Preceding him in death was his parents Willard Burns Smith and Sarah Blanche Moon Smith; his sister and brother in law, Sarah and Robert Boswell; and brother in law, Dale Bergstrom. Surviving is his wife of 29 years Kay A. Pinter Smith; his sister, Mary Ann Bergstrom; his daughters, Donna McCarthy and Susan Perkins; his stepsons, Todd Constans (Judy); Bradley (Janet) Constans; his grandchildren, Samantha Perkins, Amanda McCarthy, Jerrica (Chad) Snyder, Ashley Constans, Bryer Constans, and Tyler Constans; and great grandchild Emmitt Snyder. He also survived by several nieces and nephews. Marv graduated from Schlarman High School Class of 1958. He served in the US Army Reserves. He worked for R &S Printing for over 40 years. He also worked for Kelly Printing. He last worked as a youth advocate for the Center for Children Services, Aunt Martha’s for over 10 years. His passion was mentoring youth with life challenges. He was a member of Holy Family Church, Knights of Columbus, and American Legion Post 210. He was an “easy going guy” and known for his quick humor and many jokes. His jokes were so popular he was paid for them at one time by famous comedians. He will be missed by many relatives, friends, and coworkers.
