FRANCIS P MADDEN

 

F. Patrick "Pat" Madden, 94 of Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday, May 18th at his residence.

He was born June 7, 1922 in Hollidaysburg, son of the late Frank and Madeline(Beigle) Madden. Pat married Loretta J. Kunsman, June 9, 1947 in Hollidaysburg. She preceded him in death December 28, 1995 after having shared 48 years of marriage.

Surviving are two daughters: Jane M. Becker and husband, John of Hollidaysburg; Merrin Brown and husband Albert of the State of Washington; two sons: Frank of Duncansville; Dave and wife Diane L. of Hollidaysburg; twelve grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a son-in-law, Pat Barnes.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anne Barnes and a grandson, Scott James Madden.

Pat was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School, class of 1940 and a 1950 graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in mechanical engineering. He retired as president, after seventy years of service, from Madden Boiler Works, Hollidaysburg.

Pat was a US Navy veteran having served during WWII in Japan.

He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and the PA Society of Professional Engineers (PSPE).

Pat enjoyed hunting, walking, and working.

Friends will be received 1-5pm Sunday, May 21st at Sorge Funeral Home, Inc., Hollidaysburg where a Vigil Service will be held. A Funeral Mass will be held 10am Monday, May 22nd at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg by Father Anthony J. Legarski. Committal at New St. Mary Cemetery, Hollidaysburg.

Memorials may be given to the MS Society.
