Cecil Calvert VIRGINIA BEACH - Cecil "Jim" Calvert passed into eternal life Feb. 20, 2009. He was born in New York, the son of the late Cecil John and Ethel R. Calvert. He served in the United States Army from 1947 to 1951. He worked the rest of his career as an electrician in the Union in New York. He married Lucille in 1953. Jim was a very active member of the Church of the Ascension and the Rainbows. He also belonged to the Mother Teresa Council of the Knights of Columbus, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Remembering Jim with love are his beloved wife of 56 years, Lucille; son, John P. Calvert and his wife Deborah A. Calvert; granddaughter, Janelle M. Calvert-Walker; five great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Martin F. Byrne. He was predeceased by his son, Michael R. Calvert and his sister, Lillian Byrne. His Christian funeral liturgy will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Ascension, 4853 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach.
