COMRAUTOR "TOR" EVASCO

 

VIRGINIA BEACH – 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 and was pre-deceased by his wife of 52 years, Luisa, five years ago. He was born in Sorsogon, Philippines to the late Dionisio and Ursula Evasco.

Tor retired as a Navy Chief after 20 years of service then worked for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard for 15 years. Tor was a lifetime member of and Chaplain for both the Fleet Reserve Associates (FRA) Branch 99 and the Filipino American (Fil-Am) Veterans of Hampton Roads.

He was also a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus.

Left to cherish his memory are his four children: Elmer (Kim) Evasco, Emily Dean and her husband Steve, Marlon Evasco and his wife Jullie, Caesar Evasco and his wife Josel; and his four grandchildren: Jasmin (Gerald) Dean, Nicholas Evasco and his wife Logan, and Ian (Jessica) Evasco and Sarah Dean. Also, he was survived by his siblings: Bernardita, Prudencia, Mercedes and Quiterio; and their children. He was devoted to his grandchildren, his Church and his Faith.

A special thank you to Ms. Kim Maria for her devotion to Tor and his family during this tough time. Tor believed that “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13) and “Faith, Hope and Love and the greatest of these is Love” (1 Corinthians 13:13). The family will receive friends and flowers on Saturday and Sunday from 4-6 PM at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Princess Anne Chapel. A funeral mass will be held at 1:30 PM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Fr. Tim Kuhneman officiating. Burial will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park.
