Donald Francis Brown "Don", 81, a 45 year resident of Annapolis, MD and previously of Bowie, MD, died of complications associated with congestive heart failure on Wednesday, October 18 at the Mandrin Hospice House in Harwood, MD. Born on August 5, 1936 in Washington, DC to the late James R. and Marie Brown, Don was a graduate of Northwestern High School in College Park, MD and Ben Franklin University in Washington, DC. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an airman with the 121st Tactical Fighter Squadron at Andrews Air Force Base. Don had a lengthy career as a production manager with Litton Industries and Singer/Link and after retiring continued working as a realtor in the Annapolis area. He was an usher at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, was a member of the Fleet Reserve Club, the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree. Don served as a board member in the communities where he lived; Epping Forest, Top Royal North and Heritage Harbour. He enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing, playing billiards, reading, music, movies, the beach, travelling, spending time with his family and friends and a good laugh. Don is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janet E. Brown; his daughters, Colleen Brown Joseph and Dorene Brown (Robbie) Purnell both of Annapolis, MD; his brothers, Tim and Dennis Brown of Florida and David Brown of West Virginia; his sister, Theresa DeGrasse of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Robbie Picco, Jr, Kenny Purnell, Nolan and Rowan Joseph and Nichole Manansala and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Brown. Friends are invited to celebrate Don's life on Sunday, October 22 from 2 to 6 pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, October 23 at 10:30 am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Rd., Annapolis, MD. in lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Donald F.
