Bernard J. Mikesic, 74, Hollidaysburg, died Sunday at Homewood at Martinsburg.
He was born in Johnstown, son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Mihelic) Mikesic. He married Barbara A. Gregorich in Johnstown.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years; two daughters: Patricia M. (Brian) Lee of Honey Brook and Victoria (Matthew) Arbogast; two sons: Anthony (Susan) of Martinsburg, and Timothy (Darlene) of Warriors Mark; and 12 grandchildren.
Bernard was a 1961 graduate of Johnstown High School and a 1966 graduate of Penn State University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. In 2006, he retired from Penn State as a computer consultant.
He was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, and a 3rd degree knight of the Knights of Columbus Star of the Sea Council 4245, Hollidaysburg. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 3 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, Father Anthony J. Legarski celebrant. Committal will be at Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown. |
