Douglas L. Mauler, 63, of Kearney, died Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Good Samaritan Society – St. Luke’s in Kearney. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Kearney. Father Paul Colling will celebrate and burial will be at the Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 followed by a Christian Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. all at the church. Doug was born on January 13, 1954 to Robert D. and Phyllis L. (Erpelding) Mauler in Kearney, NE. He attended Kearney Catholic High School and graduated in 1972. Doug then briefly attended college before starting a career at West Pharmaceuticals in Kearney. He married Sharon Hunnel on March 10, 1973, they later divorced. Doug was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Kearney. He was also a 40 plus year member of the Knights of Columbus. Doug enjoyed his dogs, playing softball, bowling, camping, and also donating his time as a Boy Scout leader. He was an avid Husker fan and also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Trenton and Brynlee.

Surviving relatives include his sons, Jeff and Hannah Mauler and Tim and Keisha Mauler all of Kearney; mother, Phyllis Mauler of Kearney; sisters, Brenda and Terry Towery of Kearney, Nadine Tillemans of Holdrege, Debra and Bryon Brooks and Dawn and Dan Doughty all of Kearney; Grandchildren, Trenton Mauler and Brynlee Mauler both of Kearney; numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family and friends.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Don” Mauler; Grandparents; aunt, Janis Erpelding; Uncle, Robert Erpelding
