Robert “Bob†G. Zimmerman, age 82, of Trafford, died Friday, May 8, 2015. He was born June 8, 1932 in Wilkinsburg, a son of the late Emil L. and Helen (Prieczer) Zimmerman. He attended St. Jude Catholic Church in Wilmerding, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus of Pitcairn, the American Legion and the Trafford Rotary Club. He served in the Army during the Korean War and then went on to have a successful career for over 63 years as a contractor. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Robert G. Zimmerman Jr.; his son in law Richard Walton; and all of his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of over 62 years Donna S. (Skender) Zimmerman; Daughters Cheryl ( Dr. Gary) Johnson of Level Green, Michelle Walton Pitcairn and Stephanie Blinkhorn and boyfriend Brad Erlwein of Fredonia; grandchildren Kurt, Tiffani, Heidi, Alexis, Marissa, Kaytlynn and Jacob; and great-grandchildren Raya and Tyler. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport, 412-823-8083. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Parish, 740 Wall Ave., Pitcairn. Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Monroeville.
