Michael Ellis, 96, of Monroeville, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Adrienne (Wistran) Ellis; father of Michael Gregory Ellis (Bridget Gaughan-Ellis). He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Maria Ellis; and his siblings, Mary, John and Joe. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where he had earned an engineering degree. Mike was a World War II Army veteran, and had worked prior to his retirement at Gulf Research in the fuel research division. He was a member of North American Martyrs Church and the Knights of Columbus, and was a lead in the Greater Pittsburgh Chapter of the Three Rivers Chorus. Friends were received Wednesday at the GENE H. CORL INC. FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike, (412-372-2100). Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015, in North American Martrys Church, with Father Joseph Luisi as celebrant. Interment will be in Madison Union Cemetery.
