FRANK JOHN
March 11, 1921 - December 6, 2013. Age 92, of Monroeville, originally from Gascola (Penn Hills), passed away peacefully, on Friday, December 6, 2013, at home with his family. Son of the late Giovanni and Rose Pugliano; beloved husband of the late Phyllis Diane (Krehely) Pugliano of 50 years; loving father of Frank J. Pugliano (Susan) of Houston, TX, Pamela D. Washington (John) of Monroeville, Paulette M. Betts (Bob) of Murrysville, Penny J. Holden (Scott) of Murrysville, Dr. Fred A. Pugliano (Deidre) of St. Louis, MO, and the late Fabian J. Pugliano; brother of Helen Santini (the late Bernard) and Mary Mignogna (the late Don) both of Monroeville. Preceded in death by his siblings, Sarah DiTomasso (late John), Josie Rossetti (late Ed), Albert Pugliano (Dorothy), Alfred Pugliano (late Rose), Gaetano Pugliano, Evelyn Pugliano and Mary Pugliano. Also survived by in-laws, Fred Krehely and Allyn of Turtle Creek, Kim, Jim, Andy and Katie Groody of Alexandria, VA. Proud Nanuzzo to Brandon Betts, Sarah Pugliano, Ryan Holden, Francesca Betts, Nicolette Washington, Daniel Pugliano, Jack Washington, Nolan Betts, Dominic Pugliano and Nina Pugliano, Shannon, Brad, Reis and Riley. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and a wide- spread loving family. Frank graduated from Turtle Creek High School, Class of '38, and Westinghouse Technical, Class of '42, where he earned his engineering degree. After his hitch in the Navy, he worked at Westinghouse on some of the largest rotating electrical equipment ever built. In 1957, he joined the IUE (International Union of Electrical Workers) which lead to a distinguished career as Director of Organization for a large portion of the eastern United States, until his retirement in 1986. Frank was a proud WW II Navy veteran. He was very active in the Monroeville community and the Democratic Party in which he was a three-time delegate to the National Convention. The family would like to thank all whose help and support these last few months was so much appreciated by Frank and the family. A special thanks to Aunt Mary Mignogna for her dedication to her brother. Frank and Phyllis traveled extensively but enjoyed their family most of all. Family vacations, holiday and birthday meals, all manner of activities from Gateway to Penn State to St. Louis to Houston. A proud salute goes out to all of their friends and acquaintances who, along with their great family, made their life journey together so fulfilling and now complete. Friends welcome Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at PATRICK T. LANIGAN FUNERAL HOME, TURTLE CREEK / MONROEVILLE CHAPEL, 1111 Monroeville Avenue, Turtle Creek (412-823-9350). Mass of Christian Burial in St. Colman Church on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. Frank will be laid to rest with Military Honors in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
