AllenNov 18, 1967 - Dec 24, 2013 EDMOND Matthew Gery "Matt" Allen, of Edmond, found his peace in God after battling with brain cancer like a warrior. Matt was a friend to everyone he met and will be remembered for the ever-present smile on his face. Matt was born in Wichita, KS to Gery and Linda Allen. He was a graduate of Union High School and proudly attended OSU, where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He spent ten years in Minneapolis, MN, enjoying friendship and prosperity, working with Play it Again Sports/GrowBiz. Matt returned to Oklahoma as vice-president of CD Warehouse. He then became a pharmaceutical rep for GSK, where he worked with amazing people. Matt was very involved in the Catholic parish of St. John the Baptist in Edmond, serving on the parish council, active in Cursillo, and involved with the Knights of Columbus. He was also dedicated to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School, coaching many teams there, and served as the Athletic Director for years. Matt loved working with the Bishop McGuinness softball program as an assistant coach. He used his passion for life as a featured speaker for the American Cancer Society 's Relay For Life program, and with OSU's Coaches vs. Cancer. Matt brought light and love to everyone he met, and his greatest joys were his children, Taylor and Chris. Matt is also survived by his loving wife, Kelly (Carlile) Allen; parents, Gery and Linda Allen; brother, Seth Allen; grandparents, Drake and Betty Cook and Trudi Allen; aunts, Valorie Noury and Allie Marlow; uncles, Steve Marlow and Scott Noury.
