Edward Luquette, Sr.

August 5, 1932 - June 23, 2017

Edward Luquette, Sr., 84, of Beaumont, died Friday, June 23, 2017. He was born on August 5, 1932, to Dora Price Luquette and Aurelien Luquette, in Beaumont, and was a United States Air Force veteran having served in the Korean War. Edward loved his Jesus and his family, especially his wife, hamburgers, fishing, dominos, cards, and Hank Williams. He was a Golden Glove Featherweight in Southeast Texas.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Lillie Winkelman Luquette; children, Lillie Ann Crowley and her husband, Kenneth, of Mobile, Alabama; Edward Luquette, Jr. of Colmesneil; Harvey Joseph Luquette and his wife, Karen, of Chandler, Arizona; and David Allen Luquette, D.C., of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Jessica Crowley; DJ Luquette; Amber Bocanegra and her husband, Arnold; Jeremy Crowley; Josh Crowley and his wife, Allison; Sarah Marie Luquette; Austin Luquette; Anne Marie Luquette; and AJ Luquette; great-grandchildren, Hunter Freeman, Kayde Hoffman, Jayden Bocanegra; and “twins on the way”.

He is preceded in death by his siblings, Pearl Alice Couvillon, Aurelien “AJ” Luquette, Jr., Leo Francis Luquette, Helen Doris Luquette Erickson, Loretta Luquette Andress, and Mary Estelle Luquette Etie.

A gathering of Mr. Luquette’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 9894 Gilbert Road, Fannett. His interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont. There will be a reception upon the return from the cemetery in the parish hall at the church provided by the Ladies Guild of St. Mary.
