Simion “Tut†Harrington, 78, of Fannett, died Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. A native of Abbeville, Louisiana and resident of the Beaumont area for sixty years, Tut was a ranch hand with J.J. Hebert and Company and retired from Beaumont Rice Mill. He was an avid gardener and hunter. Survivors include his wife, Willie Dell Harrington of Fannett; sons, David Harrington and his wife Susan, John Harrington and his wife Irma and Verbis Harrington and his wife Debbie; daughters, Simona Blanchard and her husband Doug of Fannett and Aime Winckler and her husband Doug all of Fannett; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Gaulman Harrington and George Harrington; and sister, Helen Primeaux; and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, Sava Harrington and Olivia Hargraves; two brothers; and one sister preceded him in death. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 25, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fannett with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
