Leon Langley, 81, of Hamshire, died Monday, June 8, 2009 at his residence. He was born October 23, 1927 to Onezia and Abner Langley in Kinder, Louisiana. Leon has been a resident of Hamshire since 1952 and was a retired rice famer and builder. He was a United States Army veteran having served in World War II and was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Winnie. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Langley of Hamshire; sons, Leon Paul Langley and his wife Marsha of Beaumont, and Carl Anthony Langley and his wife Dana of Fannett; step-sons, Jimmy Melancon, George Melancon, Michael Melancon, and Keith Melancon; step-daughters, Audrey Hargraves, Patsy Marburger, and Florence Cole; and grandchildren, Kaylie Langley, Carli Langley, Riley Langley, Shanna Norwood and her husband Chad, Cade Langley and his wife Jennifer, Lindsay Johnson, Jacqueline Dunagan, and Carolyn Langley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2009 at St. Louis Catholic Church with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer, Winnie. A Rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Broussard’s. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 W.
