HENRY DALE EDGAR

 

Henry Dale Edgar, 66, of Fannett died early Saturday, September 5, 2009, at the Arboretum in Winnie after a twelve year struggle with Alzheimer’s. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 7, 2009, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fannett under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer in Winnie. Henry’s graveside service will follow at 4:00 p.m. that afternoon at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Kaplan, Louisiana. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Broussard’s.

A native of Winnie, Henry spent most of his life in Fannett. Although he was a man of few words, he set an example of integrity and a strong work ethic. The love’s of his life were his family and his church. His working life was spent with Harold Lee Engineering, Texas Gulf Sulphur, and Metalforms where he retired early due to his illness.

Henry is survived by his wife Sandra; sons, Derek Edgar and his wife Stephanie of Fannett, and Brandon Edgar of Sierra Vista, Arizona; daughter, Brandy Nichols and her husband Jeff of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; sister, Carolyn Layer and her husband Carl of Lockport, New York; grandchildren, Nash Nichols, Quaid Nichols, Trace Edgar, Bliss Nichols, Emily Edgar and Duff Nichols; niece, Wendy Benoit of Winnie; and nephews, Charles Mann of Hamshire and Clay Mann of Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

The Edgar family would like to express their sincere thanks to Odyssey Hospice, and the staff, friends and residents of the Arboretum. They became our family… cared for Henry and showed us how to live that part of his life.
