EUGENE KEVIN SCOTT

Kevin Scott, 54, of Beaumont, died Friday, July 12, 2013 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on October 21, 1958, in Dublin, Ireland, to Joan Rita Moore Scott and Joseph M. Scott. Kevin was the owner and operator of Scott Woodworks and also had worked in maintenance for St. Mary Catholic Church in Fannett. He was a horticulturist who loved planting flowers, shrubs, and landscaping. Kevin was friendly and loving who was always looking to help people in need and always believed in giving a person a second chance by providing them with ideas and coaching them so they may begin a new start in life. Most of all, he was very devoted to his family.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Scott; father, Joseph M. Scott of Beaumont; sisters, Shona Honey of Lumberton and Mary Taylor and her husband, Robert, of Charleston, South Carolina; nieces, Kiri Taylor and Catherine Honey; and nephew, Sean Honey.

Kevin was preceded in death by his mother.

A gathering of Mr. Scott’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont, Texas, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
