Marsha Lynne Smith, age 77, of Eldersburg passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, in Cancun, Mexico.
Born June 26, 1939, in Illinois, she was the daughter of the late James Kennedy and Lillian Carpenter Kennedy. She was predeceased by her husband David E. Smith who passed away on August 12, 2016.
Marsha had worked for the Department of Defense in finance for many years. She enjoyed charity work, sewing and traveling. She was a member of the Red Hats, Sheens Colleens, Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She had been very active in St. Joseph Catholic Community over the years.
She is survived by children and their spouses: Barb and Frank Grosso of Eldersburg, Mike Smith of Sykesville, Pat and Rick McPheron of Glen Burnie and Chris and Jan Smith of Westminster; grandchildren, Joe, Claire, Katie, Christi, Yelena and Matt and great-grandchildren, Nathan, Emma, Hendrick and Luke and brothers and sisters-in-law; Robert and Janice Kennedy of DE and Alan and Nancy Kennedy of Iowa. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 5, 2017, from 3 to 6pm at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. A funeral liturgy will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at 10am at St. Joseph Catholic Community, 915 Liberty Road, Eldersburg. Interment will be private. |
