PAUL JERARD VITT

 

Paul Jerard Vitt, 86, of Bartlesville, passed away December 29, 2016 at the Journey Home in Bartlesville.
Paul was born December 29, 1930 in St. Paul, Kansas to George and Nellie Helen (Judge) Vitt. He attended school in Hesston, Kansas in a one room school house from the 1st through 7th grade. He then attended St. Paul from 8th grade through graduation in 1949. Paul then entered the U.S. Navy in 1950 and served during the Korean Conflict until being honorably discharged in 1954. Mr. Vitt then came to Bartlesville and was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company at the Research Center as a Pilot Plant Operator until retiring in 1986. Paul married Cecelia A. Hagenhoff on August 11, 1962 at the St. John Catholic Church. The two made Bartlesville their home. Paul was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree. He enjoyed fishing and working on cars and lawnmowers in his spare time.
Paul is survived by his wife, Cecelia A. (Hagenhoff) Vitt of the home; 2 daughters, Carolyn McCullough of Bartlesville and Linda Moesta and husband Mark of Jenks, Oklahoma; 3 brothers, Don Vitt and wife Vera of St. Paul, Kansas, Bernard Vitt and wife Barbara of Tulsa, Oklahoma and John Vitt and wife Eileen of Bartlesville; 9 Grandchildren and 1 Great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons, Ron Vitt in 1982 and Allen Vitt in 1981; 2 sisters, Helen Vitt and Gretchen Belfield and 1 brother, Walter Vitt.
A Scriptural Rosary will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. at the St. James Catholic Church in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. James Catholic Church in Bartlesville with Father Archie Fernandez officiating. Interment will then be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville,
