Robert A Grell, 80, of Westmont, died on July 26, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. Born February 11, 1935 in Faribalt, MN, son of Anthony and Corrinne (Raymond) Grell. Preceded in death by his parents and sister Gloria Corrigan. Survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda Jo (Fawley), daughters Kirsten, wife of Michael Karas of Maryland, Heather wife of Joseph Nibert, 6 grandchildren Daniel, Corrinne, Alexis, Gabrielle, Ella, and Joseph, brothers and sisters-in-law Frances Block (William), Sharri Eckstein (Jeffrey), Sue Ellen Watt (Melvin), Joseph William Fawley II (Sheila) and nieces and nephews. Robert was a 1943 graduate of Rice Lake High School. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from St. Norbert College in WI, and continued his education at St. Francis University where he received his M.B.A. He worked for Ingersoll Rand Inc. for 25 years as an Engineer. Robert served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved to build things for his children and grandchildren. He also was an avid Steelers fan. Robert was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be sadly missed. He always had a very strong faith during his life. He was a longtime member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church where Funeral Mass was held Saturday, July 30, 2016. |
