COUNCIL #13713 - TRANSFIGURATION REMEMBERS
STEPHEN P "STEVE" TUCKER

Steve was born in Shreveport, LA, on August 18, 1956, a son of the late James and Mary Ruth Briggs Tucker. His brothers, John and Terry, were an important part of his life. He graduated from Clarkston High School and attended Georgia State University. He and his loving wife of thirty years, Jeaneen Johnston Tucker, shared their greatest joy, their sons, Briggs Paul and Collin James. Steve was a favorite among numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and everyone treasured his friendship. Although he was not raised a Catholic, he volunteered to count the weekly collection and his offer of help was quickly accepted by Sister Claire. However, Jeaneen’s “Catholic Guilt” required her to reveal, “But…Steve is not a Catholic.” Sister Claire’s reply to Steve: Well, you look like a Catholic to me!” began Steve’s journey into the Catholic faith as he became a faithful and supportive parishioner of Transfiguration Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Steve was a lover of the game of baseball evidenced by his impressive baseball book collection and by taking his bride to the Baseball Hall of Fame on their honeymoon. Growing up in the Atlanta area, Steve was an avid Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan. Then he married into an Auburn family, became good friends with Alabama fans and moved to Gamecock country. Which brought in Notre Dame, The Citadel, Duke, Carolina Panthers, and the Charlotte Hornets. Steve traveled with family and friends to gyms, stadiums, arenas, pitches and golf courses around the country. He played Pebble Beach, Pinehurst, Sawgrass, and many more; always enjoying both the friendship and the experience. As much as Steve loved to play, his professional life was extremely fulfilling. He dearly loved his Consolidated Pipe family and he was an invaluable employee for twenty-two years. His dedication to his family and his devotion to his wife were remarkable. Steve was an exceptional southern gentleman and he will be missed by every person who was blessed to know him.
