RICHARD BRADY

 

Richard Edward Brady, Sr., age 91 of Westminster, died Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster. Born February 28, 1925 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Harvey and Jenny Hunter Brady. He was the husband of Joan Leslie Brady (nee Finkner) of Westminster, his wife of 50 years. Richard was the owner and operator of Richard E. Brady Roofing. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Community in Eldersburg where he served as an usher, marriage sponsor, and bereavement facilitator for parents who lost children. He was a 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus Council #7612. He had been a member of the Barbershop Quartet and played the saxophone and clarinet. He enjoyed his player piano. He loved making stained glass, boating and crabbing. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter Colleen Brady of Elkridge, brother and sister-in-law George and Charlene Brady of Florida, he was Pop Pop B to Cole Smith and Grace Perry, and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and godchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Richard E. Brady, Jr. and by his siblings, Harvey, William, John, Edgar and Robert Brady, Carolyn Magina, Ione Strawbridge and Ruth Allen. Funeral liturgy will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Community, 915 Liberty Rd., Eldersburg. Interment in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 2, 2016 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.
