Daniel J. Murphy, age 92. Beloved husband of Jeanne Murphy, nee Cloonan. Devoted father of Mary (Christopher) Ahnen, Daniel (Rozanne) Murphy, Robert (Jamie) Murphy, Julie (William Manov) Murphy and Timothy (Linda) Murphy. Loving grandfather of 15 and great grandfather of 9. Loving son of the late Thomas and Leona Murphy. Dear brother of Kathleen Nitschke, Patricia Fry and the late Thomas Murphy, Rosemary Picha, and James Murphy. Loving uncle of many. Dan was born June 29, 1921 and died June 3, 2014. He was a WWII vet, a volunteer fireman for the original Hoffman Estates Fire Department, active member of St. Hubert Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Dan was a 40 year member and past treasurer of the Hoffman Estates-Schaumburg Men's Golf League. He was also a proud member of the BOCA national building code organization and a past president of NWBOCA. Visitation Friday from 3 to 8 PM at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 330 W. Golf Road, Schaumburg. Funeral prayers 9:15 AM Saturday at the funeral home to St. Hubert Catholic Church, 729 Grand Canyon Road, Hoffman Estates. Mass 10 AM. Interment St. Michael the Archangel, Palatine.
