Mario Balsamo. A Resident of Glendale Heights for 30 years. Family and friends of Mario Balsamo, 86, will gather for a memorial visitation, Saturday, March 15 from 1:00pm until 3 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00pm at Michaels Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 800 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg. Born Sept. 9, 1927 in Chicago to the late Dominick and the late Mary (nee Gallina), he was step-son of the late Angeline Balsamo (nee Roccosanto). He passed away peacefully Thursday, January 30, 2014 in Aurora. He was proud to have worked in his family's business, Don & Angie's Pizzeria in Glen Ellyn and as a member of the US Steelworkers Union at Precision Steel for 35 years. Mario was the adoring husband of 56 years to Lorraine (nee Martin); loving father of Anne Marie, Laura Ann and Rose Marie; doting grandfather of Amanda Shari; dear brother of the late Peter and the late Charles; beloved step-brother of Lawrence Balsamo and Michelle Pyle-Balsamo.
