COUNCIL #13204 - ST. BRIGID REMEMBERS
RICHARD GRIES

Mr. Richard "Dick" Gries, 70, of Roswell, GA, passed away on July 6, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. A 1961 (B.S.M.E.) and 1965 (M.S.E.A.) graduate of Case Institute of Technology, he was an accomplished Mechanical Engineer working for over 40 years in the corrugated/packaging industry. Dick will be remembered as a man with a wonderful sense of humor, who had a strong faith, and who loved his family dearly. Dick's incredible spirit was most recently made clear when, just before brain surgery, he said that despite his recent health challenges he felt like a "spoiled child" because God had given him everything that he had ever hoped for in life. Dick is survived by Barbara, his loving wife of 48 years; devoted children, Joan (Robert Anchaya) Gries Pepper, Matthew (Lori) Gries, Daniel (Yuka Honda) Gries, and Michael (Laura) Gries; and grandchildren, Benjamin, Sarah, Luke, Aidan, Mia and Noa. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m., July 8, at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, GA, (770) 993-4811. The Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 9, at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 3400 Old Alabama Road, Johns Creek, GA 30022. He will be placed at rest at Green Lawn Cemetery following the Mass, and a luncheon at St. Brigid's in his honor will follow. Donations in memory of Dick may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Brigid.
