JOHN RICHARD SETTIPANI

John Richard Settipani

After graduating Lane Tech in 1943, he served as a gunner’s mate in the Navy during WWII. Upon returning to the states he earned his Bachelors from Iowa Wesleyan. He moved back to Chicago and after a long courtship, John married his soul mate Phyllis nee Lepovitz in November 1957. A loving father, he is survived by his sons Chris (Julie) and Preston (Gina) and daughters Jackie and Mickey (Paul) Grossman. Proud grandfather to Drew, Angela, Kyle, Austin and Sheridan. A top seller and designer of custom kitchens, he retired from K.D.A. in 1994. John was a 3 time cancer survivor, a devout Catholic, Cubs, Bears and Bulls fan, avid golfer, lover of Jazz and Poetry and at 89 could still play a grand game of chess.
