LADY JANET MARIE VAN CLEVE

 

Janet Marie Van Cleve, 67 of Sykesville, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Gilchrist Hospice Care in Columbia. Born June 1, 1946 in Coatesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Virginia Hoppers Rosciolo. She was the wife of John W. "Jack" Van Cleve of Sykesville, her husband of 48 years whom she married on November 25, 1965.
She attended S. Horace Scott High School. She married Jack Van Cleve on November 25, 1965. She moved to Eldersburg in 1975 where she became active at St. Joseph Catholic Community. She served as a eucharistic minister, visited the sick and visited the bereaved at funeral homes. She was a member of the Sheens Colleens and started a cancer support ministry at St. Joseph's. She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters. She served as a board member of Courage Lyons and was an active member of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
Janet worked as a career specialist at AIPT of Columbia for 25 years, an international student exchange program. Her final duties included staffing the Grand America Hotel for the Salt Lake City Olympics.
Surviving in addition to her husband are son and daughter-in-law Timothy and Kimberly Van Cleve of Manchester, daughter and son-in-law Kristine and Michael Guerin of Mt. Airy, grandchildren Cheyenne and Dakota Van Cleve of Manchester, and Emma, Michael and Abby Guerin, all of Mt. Airy, sister Linda Wemett of Wagontown, PA, and brothers Paul and John Rosciolo, both of Coatesville, PA.
She was predeceased by her brother, Albert Rosciolo.
