EDMUND "ED" M. COMFORT

 

Edmund M. Comfort, age 88, of Sykesville, died Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Seasons Hospice at Northwest Hospital Center, Randallstown.
Born January 21, 1923, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Arthur Edmund and Virginia Howard Carder Comfort. He was the husband of Marie Antoinette "Toni" Comfort of Sykesville.
Ed had been a truck mechanic for many years. He was a veteran of the 9th Division of the Army Air Force, serving in World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Community since 1962. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and the oldest living member of Fulton Sheen Council #7612. He was a member of the Alhambra. Ed enjoyed collecting model trains, Big Band music and was a lifelong Orioles fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife are sons and daughters-in-law: Wayne P. and Marion Comfort of Sykesville, E. Ronald and Katherine N. Comfort of Linwood and Nancy L. Comfort of Mt. Airy. He is survived by grandchildren: Mara R. Lynaugh, Jennifer R. Comfort, Angelica L. Comfort and Alicia M. Standridge and great-grandchildren: Austin T. Comfort, Dennis John "Jack" Standridge, III, Owen P. Comfort, Teagan A. Lynaugh and Emilie M. Standridge.
He was predeceased by son, the late Gary N. Comfort and granddaughter: Kimberly D. Comfort.
