COUNCIL #8240 - CHESAPEAKE COUNCIL REMEMBERS
CURTIS DUBOIS LIGHTFOOT

 

Curtis DuBois Lightfoot, son of the late Curtis O & Mildred A. Lightfoot, departed this life on May 19, 2016 in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Born May 21, 1949 in Washington, D.C., he was educated in the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., graduating from St. Francis de Sales Grammar School and then Mackin High School in 1968. He attended Lewis College in Joliette, Illinois and Federal City College (University of the District of Columbia).

He was employed by the B&O Railroad for 15 years and later went on to work as a tractor trailer driver, which he loved doing, driving to 46 of the 50 states.

He is survived by his wife Agnes Pauline, whom he married on November 26, 2011, and three stepchildren, William Blake, Valerie Blake and Steven Blake and five grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sisters, Marie Lightfoot and Regina Lightfoot DaCosta; brothers-in-law, Jack DaCosta, Paul Collins, Michael Collins and John Collins; sisters-in-law, Cora Thompson and Rose Carroll; and Mother-in-law, Pauline Collins; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends and his favorite niece, Tinika McCoy. He is also survived by his Aunt Hazel and Uncle Fabius Tucker.

Curtis was very active in his younger years in basketball and baseball. He loved watching the Redskins and Nationals play. He was also very much into and very good at taking care of his PT Cruiser and won over 37 trophies from the car shows that he entered in.
