FRANK LEE CALLIS

 

Frank Lee Callis, 75 of St. James passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.

Mr. Callis was born January 6, 1941 in Tennessee; he was a dear man, a loving husband, father, and friend. Frank was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southport, and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus.

He had played semi-pro baseball, enjoyed golf, tennis, football, and snow skiing. He had also been a Little League baseball coach as well as a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Union #210 in Connecticut.

Survivors include his wife Lynn Callis of the home; three sons, Frank Lee Callis, Jr. and wife Penny of Springfield, TN, Stephen Alan Callis and wife Sheila of Sadlersville, TN, and Douglas Steven Callis and wife Mary of Killingworth, CT; two daughters, Donna Jean Broussard and husband Lee of Severna Park, MD, and Elana Beers and husband Emmett of Vestavia Hills, AL; a brother Michael Wayne Callis and wife Mary Alice; two sisters Greta Stainback and husband Ed, and Diane Whitlow and husband Lonnie; twelve grandchildren, Bradley Callis, Adam Callis, Stephen Callis, Andy Callis, Eric Callis, Michael Callis, Julia Callis, Kelly Broussard, Jennifer Broussard, Patrick Broussard, Mitchell Beers, and Alec Beers, and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Callis was preceded in death by his father Verner Callis; his mother Frances Darke; his step-father Kelly Mantlo; his step-mother Frances Callis; and a brother William Kelly Mantlo.
