ALBERT 'TIP' CUNNINGHAM

 

CWO 4 ALBERT CUNNINGHAM U.S. Navy, Retired Albert L. "Tip" Cunningham, 93, of Las Vegas, passed away Nov. 23, 2011, after a sudden brief illness. Tip was born Aug. 25, 1918, in Avonmore, Pa., and resided in Las Vegas since 1965. He retired as a chief warrant officer 4 after 30 years of service in the U.S. Navy. Tip retired for the second time as the UNLV director of purchasing in 1983. Tip was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a Sir Knight in the Reverend Theodore Van Skee Assembly to the 4th Degree. Then he was also the former district deputy of the Nevada State Council, and a past Grand Knight of the St. Viator Council 3rd Degree. In addition, Tip was a member of the Association of Italian Catholics and actively involved in the Green Valley Chapter of the Kiwanis. Tip was proceeded in death by his beloved wife, Josie. He is survived by his sister, Donna Dry; his niece, Sue Veilleux; and his nephew, Charles Kaib. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Burial following at Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
