JOHN RYAN After a brief stay in the hospital, John Edward Ryan died of natural causes April 1, 2007. Born in Buffalo, N.Y., June 12, 1916, John had recently enjoyed a 90th birthday celebration with family and friends. John served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, lived in several states, and then raised his family in Seguin, Texas. He earned a bachelor's degree from Fredonia State Teachers' College in New York, and later completed a masters in business administration at St. Mary's University in San Antonio. After retiring from his civil service post at Randolph Air Force Base, he spent three years as a volunteer at the Red Cloud Indian School in Pine Ridge, S.D. Finally, he enjoyed a long retirement including several years on a Del Webb golf course in Henderson. In Henderson he was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He is survived by Lois Jean, his wife of 61 years, and their six children: Mike Ryan and wife, Suzanne, Pat Ryan and wife, Linda, Kit Turner and husband, Bob, Tim Ryan and wife, Cinea, Keri Arrage and husband, Sonny, and Tom Ryan and wife, Cindy. He also had seven grandchildren, Sean, Kirstin, Kendra, Darcie, John, Devin and MacKenzie. John was preceded in death by all his siblings and several golf buddies who have been waiting patiently for his arrival at the first tee. Visitation will be 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, April 6, with funeral service to follow, both at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. The burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.
