John Allen Setterstrom, known as Jack to his friends, passed away quietly at his home Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006. He was born Jan. 9, 1930, in Superior, Wis. Jack moved to Las Vegas in 1969, after retiring from the U.S. Air Force. He began a new career as director of purchasing for the Del Webb Corporation. In 1979, he became a purchasing agent for UNLV until his retirement in 1990. Jack was a 17 year member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 8282. He and his wife, Sharon, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June of last year. Jack was a devoted husband and loving father, as well as a doting grandpa and great-grandpa. His family was always first on his agenda. He will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him. Jack is survived by his spouse, Sharon; children, John Jr., Bruce, Julie and Paul; grandchildren, Adam, Christopher, David Jr., Ryan, Kellie, Dylan and Dallas; great-grandchild-ren, Whitney, Cyleste and Nicholas; dear son-in-law, David; daughters-in-law, MaryJane, Pat and MaryLou; mother-in-law, Eva; and many cousins and friends. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, with services to follow, both at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. God Bless You and Keep You Jack.
