REV WAYNE G DUPUIS, CSV

 

Viatorian priest, Rev. Wayne G. Dupuis, C.S.V., passed away on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at the age of 67. He was born in Kankakee, Ill., April 20, 1937, and was preceded in death by his parents, the late Franklin Hubert and Marie Catherine (Kanowski) Dupuis. He is survived by his three sisters, Ardis, Kathleen Dupuis and Jane Petre. Fr. Dupuis professed his first vows as Viatorian on Sept. 8, 1954. Bishop Romeo Blanchette ordained him priest on June 6, 1970. He earned a B.S. in Commerce from Loyola University in Chicago and a Master's in Education Administration from Catholic University in Washington D.C. He served at several Viatorian staffed high schools which include: Spalding Institute, Peoria, Ill., Cathedral Boys' High School, Springfield, Ill., Alleman High School, Rock Island, Ill., Griffin High School, Springfield, Ill. and Saint Viator High School, Arlington Heights, Ill. In 1992, he was assigned as Associate Pastor at St. Viator Parish, Las Vegas, where he served until his death. Visitation will be from 2-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, with a Vigil service at 7 p.m. A Mass of Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, all at St. Viator Parish Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. An additional viewing will be at Maternity B.V.M. Parish, Bourbonnais, Ill. A Mass of Resurrection will follow. Interment will be at Maternity B.V.M. Cemetery, Bourbonnais, Ill. In lieu of flowers, Father Dupuis requested that donations be made in his name to St. Viator Building Fund.
