Charles "Chuck" Dummer, 76, died Saturday, May 28, 2016 at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am Friday at St. James Catholic Church with Father Art Faesser & Father Joseph Hannappel officiating. The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Thursday at the church with a vigil/prayer service beginning at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers to St. James Church, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree or Donor's choice. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Chuck was born September 28, 1939 in Racine, Wisconsin too Fred and Helen Dummer. Chuck served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1961. On February 8, 1964 Chuck was united in marriage to Joan Alexander in Racine, WI. The couple moved to Kearney, Nebraska in 1975. Chuck worked as an executive Recruiter in the Lawn & Garden Industry until he retired. He was an active member of St. James Church and Knights of Columbus. Chuck was a strong advocate for the Kearney community and UNK as well as a volunteer in many organizations.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Joan; son, Jeff Dummer; daughter Shelly Dummer and special friend John K; grandson C.J. Gunther and granddaughter Kara Wimberley all of Kearney; and his sister Roxann Johnson and her husband Ralph of Racine, WI along with nieces and cousins.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents.
