Paul F. Becker, 77, of Duncansville died Saturday March 4, 2006, at Altoona Regional Health System, Bon Secours Hospital Campus emergency room. He was born September 11, 1928, in St. Boniface, son of the late Charles and Cecelia (Kruise) Becker. He married Ada M. (Cretin) June 18, 1949, in St. Augustine Catholic Church, St. Augustine.
He was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church, Duncansville. He was self-employed for 54 years in excavating, paving, coal stripping and snow removal. He enjoyed his family and working. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Third Degree, Star of the Sea Council and Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was a former member of the Golden Nuggets and the Horseshoe Seniors.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years; three daughters: Rose Mary Lee, La Verne Duncan and husband, Kevin, and Paula Becker; a son, Arnold; eight grandchildren: Arnold Jr., Wendy, Sheila and Jessica Becker, David, Mark and Steven Lee and Tonya McCann; four great-grandchildren: Hannah, Olivia, David Jr. and Jasmine Lee; a sister, Mary T. Callahan; and three brothers: Clarence, Walter and Ralph. He was preceded in death by two sons: Roy A., Dec. 27, 1985, and Clair F., daughter-in-law, June, and granddaughter, Lauren, all on June 25, 2005; a sister, Hilda Dietrick; and a brother, William.
Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg, where a vigil service will be held. Concelebrated funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church, Duncansville, by Father John Slovikovski and Monsignor Michael Becker.
