COUNCIL #1302 - BARTLESVILLE REMEMBERS
DONALD J. ZODROW

Donald John Zodrow passed away May 13, 2016 near his home in Bartlesville, OK. He was born October 24, 1933 in Enid, OK. After graduating from Claremore High School he served honorably with the U.S. Army in Europe. Upon his discharge he attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater for three years, then graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah after earning his Bachelor's Degree.
Don began a teaching career in Tulsa, OK, but decided to accept an offer to join Phillips Petroleum Company when he and his sweetheart decided to marry. Both of these decisions became the most important in his life. Computing was in its infancy but as it expanded and grew, Don and Janice started their family in Bartlesville and never looked back.
When "Z" retired, he and his wife enjoyed traveling to "far away" and "close to home" destinations. Don was an excellent amateur carpenter and landscaper; and most al all, anything to do with Oklahoma State University.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph William Zodrow, Sr. and Dorothy Irene Zodrow (nee Layman); and his brother Joseph William Zodrow, Jr. He is survived by his wife Janice; their three daughters; Dawn Theresa Eastman, (her husband Joseph Eastman); Deirdrea Ann Jaoudi, (her husband Joseph Jaoudi); and Dorian Leigh Zodrow Thompson. Don is also survived by (and was so often delighted by) his grandsons Joseph Dean Jaoudi, Matthew Don Jaoudi, Andrew Benjamin Eastman, Will Eastman (wife Angie), and one granddaughter Emily Eastman. He is also survived by one sister Mary Louise Tucker (husband Gene Tucker). Don's numerous beautiful, wonderful nieces, nephews and dear friends were an important part of his life.
Memorial contributions may be made in Don's memory to the Forrest Manor Nursing Home 1410 N. Choctaw Ave. Dewey, OK. 74029.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Forrest Manor Nursing Facility of Dewey, OK, Cornerstone Hospice in Bartlesville and especially to his caregivers for their loving care.
The family will hold a private graveside service this week, but is planning a Celebration of Don's Life Memorial Service in the near future.
